Finding my subject is an organic process which involves a bit of wandering outdoors. Recently my quiet walks through the woods have helped me realize that there’s a mold I needed to break out of: the lack of freedom to explore and make mistakes while painting. This latest body of work has been a journey into new ways of mark-making and applying paint to canvas. I’ve also found inspiration to observe and express the natural world with more courage and passion.
