LEAH FITTS Inspiration Point: INNER PEACE

For this group show, titled ‘Inspiration Point’, I have been reflecting on my artistic inspirations, both past and present.  The core inspirations for my art have always been natural elements, mid-century design, and rich textures and colors.  However, more recently, I’ve been inspired to create art that helps me calm my mind and arrive at a peaceful state.  After a full day of painting my thoughts and emotions on canvas, I am often exhausted, yet peaceful about the day’s work.  That doesn’t necessarily mean that the artwork I create will be soft or quiet or peaceful, but that I will have conveyed my emotions in a way that provides me with a sense of peacefulness when the work is completed.  It is with this goal in mind that I share my latest work with you.  It is titled ‘Inner Peace’.
